Hello and welcome!

My name is Sierra and I don't wear shoes. That's just a very basic summary of one aspect of my life. This blog explores that aspect and how it comes in to play with other aspects of my life. You will see my barefoot adventures in this blog, for that is exactly what my life is: an adventure.

I barefoot for the sheer pleasure of the sensation. All babies are born without shoes and their parents teach them to wear shoes as they get older. My parents taught me the dangers of going barefoot but allowed me to go barefoot when camping or playing outside as long as I was careful.

Of course I've had injuries as a result. It's going to happen no matter how careful I am. I stepped on more nails than I could count when I was a kid and I got a pretty bad tetanus infection when I was 13. I've had glass, barbed wire, and sticks slice my feet open and I do get a little frost nip in the winters. But in 20 years, I have only had to have medical attention as a result of barefooting twice: once for the tetanus and once to have glass removed from my foot. Both taught me to be more careful. I now stay up to date on my tetanus shots. None of my injuries have made me any less passionate about my barefoot lifestyle.

I encourage everyone to try going barefoot, even if it's just for a few minutes within the privacy of your bedroom. And when you see a barefooter, smile and wave. Free soles, free minds.

But don't you develop calluses which removes the sensation?

  2. Yes, my calluses remove or deaden certain sensations, but I don't have calluses over all of my feet. The arch of my foot is still rather soft. When I step in a puddle, I feel the wetness and the cool water. When I walk on hot cement, it warms my soles. Those are the sensations I love. Those are the sensations that being barefoot allows me to feel, more so than wearing shoes.

  3. I live in Queens NY. I often visit a friend in Long Beach and go barefoot there, and I agree it's great. But in summer, on hot asphalt - YOW!

Does one ever get used to hot asphalt, or even slate patio stones? Or just try to keep to grass and sidewalk concrete, since that seems to absorb less heat.

I go shopping barefoot during the week, but at night, perhaps that isn't adequate? I've been glad to note that the biggest obstacle to the barefoot life is embarrassment. But most people don't care, and most businesses don't care, as long as you shop there.

  4. I was reading now about half an hour in your interesting blog and i have to show you my respect about walking totally barefoot in every situation. sometimes it must be difficult, because of anti-barefoot-restrictions or prejudices, isn't it?
i love barefooting in summertime, hiking barefoot and gardening. but never at work or on weddings.

Greetings from the far and small Luxembourg :-)

  5. my parents decided that i need to stop wearing shoes and socks and this blog really helps a lot knowing that im not alone.

it is still super embarrassing showing my feet in public but i think im getting used to it.

it is good because shoes are super harmful and are bad for feet, and socks are just socks, and cover up your feet and they said that i cant cover up my feet so thats probably bad or smth.

i was upset when they took away all the shoes and socks i had because i had a super cute pair of socks that i really liked and they got rid of everything but at least it was donated. T-T

even though i didnt choose this i really dont mind the rule and my friends think im crazy when i show up at school barefoot and say i agree with my parents that someone like me should stay barefoot.

they are right also about me not really being in the position to choose to wear shoes just mostly bcos i am not really good at making decisions for myself and this is for my own good.

i really dont mind it though and like being barefoot so its alright i guess.

what i like is when my feet get dirty. my feet are dirty right now and i am very proud because it shows that i am walking around barefoot like i am supposed to be and not cheating.

also i like to show people my feet when they are dirty bcos it shows that ive been barefoot for a long time and i didnt just suddenly go barefoot. like i just dont own shoes and when you dont own shoes you go everywhere barefoot and get super dirty feet that look cute :3

    1. Hmmh.. just checking in so that everyone knows im still being good :3

im still permabarefoot because obv like.. its permanent so it isnt like im going to wear shoes ever again.

i cant disobey bcos im not naughty so i really cant wear shoes again. i just cant.

once the decision was made for me that was it so im basically perma barefoot and i will never ever wear shoes again bcos i dont wanna and i will resist if anyone tries to make me cover my feets :3

i got a reward for keeping my feet dirty :D

my reward was two hours strapped to the tickle bench and yes i did cry a bit qwq

i like being tickled on the tickle bench bcos it helps me have good behavior.

i follow directions much better after i am given stimulation all over my bare feet that i cant stop no matter how much i tug on the straps owo.

my feet are still oiled up and they brushed my feet a lot and i cried a lot and i feel good now :3

    2. i also have started to show my bare feet to people and make sure that they know im not allowed to have shoes on bcos everyone should know for my own safety so that i will never have shoes on again.

also everyone gets to see the bottom of my feet and maybe even take pictures and it feels good when people take pictures X3
